Every Age At Once
You are every age at once. You carry all the wisdom of your future selves. You are already old and wrinkled and grey from days in the sun and lusty nights drinking up your lovers moonlit eyes. You carry the same bones as your infant self, bringing with you all the untainted desires for human connection and intimacy before this world got to you. You carry all the stories and scuffs and bruises from you teenage years, the hard lessons learned. You even hold the selves that you wish you could distance from. You carry the mistakes made, the wake of hurt left by your actions, the harm left in a lovers heart. But this is your power: you are every age at once. You can call on future, stronger selves to carry you home when your knees buckle after a hard week. You can pull from past selves harm caused and step into your power of curating more intentional and loving relationships moving forward. While meditation may be all about nailing yourself to the present moment — we can never truly exist in linear time. We are always, in all the ways, all of our selves at once.
Every time you show up for yourself, you are soothing your past and future selves. Every time you decide to commit to your healing journey, you are also committing to the healing journey of your not only your past and future selves in this lifetime — but in many lifetimes (your ancestors and children’s children). The impetus for your healing work predates your birth. That is a heavy burden to carry — which is why you need to call on all of your selves to wade thru the shadows. You are never truly alone, for you are every age at once. Always in company with youselve(s).
